Capture guide

How to edit a screenshot with AI

With Capture Pro + AI ($20/month or $200/year), open the screenshot in the Capture editor, pick AI edit and describe the change, such as remove the cookie banner or fix the typo in the heading. It edits the whole image, or drag over a part first to change only that area. Pro + AI includes everything in Pro plus 100 AI edits a month.

The editor sends only the image or area you're editing and your instruction to Google's Gemini API, then puts the result back into your screenshot. Arrows, boxes and text you added aren't sent and stay editable on top.

Step by step

Edit a screenshot with AI

  1. Open the side panel

Add Capture from the Chrome Web Store, then click its icon in the toolbar to open the side panel.

  2. Capture the page and click Edit

Choose Full page, Scrolling area or Visible area and capture. When the side panel shows Your capture is ready, click Edit to open it in the Capture editor.

  3. Pick AI edit

Click AI edit in the editor's toolbar, or press I. A box for your instruction appears above the image.

  4. Choose what to change

To change one part, drag over it. To change the whole image, don't drag anything.

  5. Describe the change

Type what you want, such as remove the cookie banner, then press Edit area or Edit whole image. Ctrl+Z undoes the result.

  • The editor shows how many of your 100 AI edits are left this month. An edit that fails isn't counted.
  • AI results can differ from what you asked. Check the edited area before you share the screenshot, and undo if it isn't right.
  • It works on any image, not only captures: open the Capture editor at capture.appzlr.com/edit/, sign in, and open, drop or paste the image.
FAQ

Questions and answers

Is editing screenshots with AI free?

No. AI edits are part of Capture Pro + AI, $20/month or $200/year, which includes everything in Pro plus 100 AI edits a month. Capture Pro, $10/month or $100/year, has the editor without AI edits. On Pro, you can switch to Pro + AI and pay only the prorated difference.

What can I ask it to change?

Describe the change in plain words: remove a cookie banner or popup, fix a typo, reword a heading, blank out a chart, swap an image or clear out clutter. Drag over a part first to change only that area.

Where does my screenshot go?

Only the image or area you're editing and your instruction are sent, through capture.appzlr.com to Google's Gemini API, and the result comes back to your browser. Appzlr doesn't store the image, the result or your instruction; it only counts your AI edits for the month. Nothing is sent until you press Edit area or Edit whole image.

What happens when I've used all my AI edits?

The count starts again at the beginning of the next month (UTC). Everything else in the editor keeps working.
